Evangelists’ Conference

OAC Evangelists’ Conference is being held at Hebron Hall in Dynas Powys, Cardiff from the 9th through the 13th of November._MPH7249

In addition to professional evangelists, this conference welcomes anyone involved with evangelism such as those who take part in their church outreach. The aim is to build up, equip and encourage all those serving in outgoing evangelism. Also, there will be an international aspect as delegates are expected from different countries.

Practical communications workshops and speakers will be featured throughout the week. Coming from a wide spectrum of ministry, speakers include Dr Hugh Osgood, Andi Markham, Simon Calvert of the Christian Institute and Peter Green. Sessions emphasise OAC’s creative outreach such as the innovative use of sketchboard illustrations, high impact object lessons and specialised children’s ministry.

  • Great to hear of all that’s been going on at the conference. Thanks Dave – God bless you. I really missed being there. Looking forward to next year.

  • Thursday! Very different day today and brilliant! Hugh Osgood spoke to us in the morning on preaching and was just so good. Such an easy guy to listen too and on the button for us all. This afternoon we had Sam Webster from the Christian Institute. He flew down from Newcastle at 7 this morning to be with us. He was able to speak to us on all things legal and it was really helpful. With so many feeling concerned about the challenges to Christians as we seek to live out our life and witness in a God honouring way he was able to advise us of our rights in law! It is such an encouragement to know that bodies such as CI are there for us. Tonight we will hear from Farid and America our Columbian friends, and Chris and Hildi regarding the European ministry. We will close in sharing communion led by Peter. That’s it from me at the OAC conference. If you have enjoyed reading about all that has been going on then why not join us next year. Details will be on the website. Bless you for your prayers! Over and out!

  • 10.22pm and I am exhausted. Not stopped all day. It has been a really full day too! Andi Markham shared on story telling and introduced us to Granddad and Jamie his puppet mates. Fantastic! Steve Macbeth demonstrated some of his Tricks for Truth and later took a great deal of our money on resources that he had for sale! Good investment it was too! The afternoon was the staff forum followed by reports from Norway, Romania, and Turkey. Inspiring and challenging stuff! Tonight was more sharing on puppets and illusions as well as some superb new PowerPoint stuff! Much sharing of ideas going on all the time as well as encouraging of one another and prayer. All good stuff. Oh yes I also handed over the baton today to Peter Kennelly. I’ll be at the job centre when I get back home!!! (joke!)

  • So we come to the end of a full day and what a good one it has been. We began with a time of worship led by Jon Bonner. Peter Green then took us on a historical journey tracing the place of open air preaching in the Rooting, Reformation and Revival of the church in England, the land of Angels! Later in the day we had times of sharing of ideas. Lots of new sketchboard messages, object lessons, ideas for Christmas, Lent and the Ascension! In between sessions there are great times of sharing and lots of stories from ministry around the world. Bless you for your prayers.

  • Well we are off. Delegates from Norway, Spain, Colombia, Turkey, Romania, all over the UK and one turned up unexpected from New Zealand!! Jon Bonner led the opening worship and then we watched a DVD of Mark Driscoll speaking on Preaching! Inspiring! Lots of tea being drunk now and plenty of conversation. It will be a late night for some but I won’t be one of them! I need to be fresh for tomorrow! Oops maybe I will be later than expected as Jon has just given me a batch of songs to be put on to my song programme for tomorrow’s worship. Peter Green is speaking in the morning so do be in prayer for him! Goodnight from Cardiff!
