A really good open-air yesterday in Manchester. Encouraging to start the 'season' off. A good team of 10 including people who travelled in from Wallasey and Accrington.

Maggie spoke with Michael after the first talk. He is Catholic but had no assurance of salvation. In due course, Maggie was able to lead him in a prayer of commitment to Christ. PTL.
Maggie also had conversations with several others including Shawn, from a Seventh Day Adventist family. He had “never heard the gospel like that before” – he took a Turn to God Leaflet and was challenged. There was a man who was part of a street sales team, selling insurance, he had never heard the gospel before and was open but concerned his boss was watching so he had to get on with his job.

Carole and Lydia spoke with Athena who was from a Greek Orthodox background. Her family were very religious but Athena said she knew something was missing and that she was a sinner and was afraid because of that. Lydia was able to share her testimony. Athena was shown the prayer of commitment in TTG – she said she wanted to say it but also wanted to think it through first. Carole has her e-mail address.

Doreen spoke with Martin, a deaf man, knows Jesus as his Saviour, but was not settled in a church. Doreen encouraged him to get involved in a church. There was little sign of spiritual growth.
Salman took a John’s gospel in Arabic. Two Chinese girls, students, Amy and Riana (adopted English names) were Buddhists but both took John’s gospel and promised to read them.

David H had a long conversation with a Catholic man who said he had Catholicism drilled into him as a child – kept on that he did not see the gospel as relevant

David W spoke to two students from Malaysia (Jonathan and Wayne) who were religious (Buddhists?). They listened to David tell them about Jesus and one said his brother was a Christian in Malaysia. Each took a TTG leaflet and encouraged to “speak to your brother”
David also spoke with John, a Catholic and explained the gospel to him.
David and Carole spoke with a mother and daughter who were from Inverness – mother is a Christian, but daughter is not.

This is just a flavour of the conversations that took place and many pieces of literature were also distributed – pray that these will be read and lead to conversions.

Had a good open-air in Manchester last Friday (15/10/10) despite a rain interruption. Some good conversations and one woman who turned to Christ and has since been along to church accompanied by two of our team members.

Weather deteriorated slightly - cloudy and cooler. We still had a great time. Not so many stopped as last week, but we did have reasonably good number and personal conversations with about 10 people.

Preparing for open-air in Manchester at lunchtime (23/4/10). A lovely day here - great to proclaim the wonderful gospel to people who wouldn't otherwise hear (Romans 10:14)

Open-air on Friday was a good start to the season. Rain curtailed the session but I was able to preach twice to about 40 people in total and there were good conversations with a number of people who took gospel literature, some received John's gospels.

We will be starting our open-airs in Manchester on Friday, March 26th, after a break caused by my health and then winter. The team are raring to go, but we could do with more on the team. Please pray for good weather, good crowds and good, positive conversations.

Robin - Yes I do remember you and have from time to time asked Roger about you. I also think Roy Graham in Rathriland borrowed a board off you for me to use when I was over with them a couple of years ago.
Encouraging to hear that you are still using the board in your ministry - it is still, I believe, the most effective and versatile visual aid around.
Our open-air ministry in Manchester has been going really well however I have to put it on hold for the moment due to health problems.

Geoff

Not sure if you will remember me. I did the OAC training at Birmingham while I was working with Belfast City Mission.

I was introduced to the Sketchboard by Roger Gray who I still count as a close friend and a great encourager.

I am still a regular user of 'The Board' in School and on the street.

During August 09 I had the privilege of helping a team of young people in Kilknenny involved in Street Evangelism.

May the Lord continue to bless you as you take the gospel into the open air.
