Tell-A-Tourist

Tell-A-TouristReaching out to the world with the Good News of Jesus, Tell-A-Tourist usually witnesses to people coming from more than 70 countries. From the 26th to the 31st of July this year, professional evangelists will train team members. Each day also includes practical sessions in evangelism at London tourist hot spots. Gospel messages accompanied by illustrating on a sketch board draw crowds. One to one conversations follow with literature distributed in many languages. London City Mission in partnership with OAC Ministries (Open Air Campaigners) heads this innovative outreach.

DAY 1

- Tell-a-Tourist mission started today with two sessions of open air preaching – the afternoon at Piccadilly Circus and the evening at Leicester Square. The weather held out – there was no rain.

- There were good crowds for all the brief Gospel messages accompanied by sketchboard illustrations and good conversations afterwards.

- The team met people from South Africa, Italy, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, UK and many other countries.

- The last sketchboard message was very direct – the first line of the illuatration asking, ‘What is God?’ The crowd was captivated through the strength of the preaching and the power of God and there were great conversations afterwards.

- One young female team member, on a mission for the first time, had a conversation with a young woman from a country closed to the Gospel.  In the goodness of God, this young woman was open to hear the Good News about Jesus.

DAY 2

- Today, the team of eight were based at Covent Garden in the morning and at Piccadilly Circus in the evening.

- Each location gathered good crowds around the sketch-boards. Not all crowds were large, but everyone who stayed, listened clearly.

- Some nationalites encountered and spoken to today, include: Burma, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Uzbekistan, France, Somalia, Qatar, Serbia, Parkistan, Hungary, Cameroon and Russia.

- The team are encouraged, but tired. The weather was good, with only an inconvenient 10 minute shower.
